Jazz Night at Christ Church New Brighton, Staten Island, August 16
Christ Church New Brighton in Staten Island, New York, has demonstrated, in many ways, its commitment to assisting us in bringing our goals to fruition. The church has helped us ;to develop and exploit avenues for fundraising, it continues to be involved in our progress, and it has already also served as the venue for two of our annual conventions.
Fr. Charles Howell and members of the congregation are hosting a benefit event (Jazz Night) at the church on August 16th. to raise funds for our reconstruction projects.
The event, also sponsored by the Hon. & Mrs. Alfred Curtis and Mr. Rolland Dempster, will include a dinner of Liberian and Western dishes, a viewing of our DVD (Then and Now), and live entertainment with pianist Danny Mixon and his trio, featuring vocalist Ernie Bruce (our Public Relations Officer and EHS graduate).
Mr. Bruce, a professional singer, continues to render his services whenever called upon to do so for our organization. His performances are a living testimony of the quality of education that was once offered by our beloved institutions, since his musical training began at EHS under the tutelage of Marilyn Robertson. Please click here for a printable poster and join us on August 16th. Click here for more information and the reservation form.
Annual Convention
Our annual convention is the one event that gives all of our members and friends in the U.S.the opportunity to come together, review, and plan our activities in keeping with our mission and vision. As we plan for our 2008 Convention, we invite all friends and members of the organization to attend and participate in the planning and execution of the numerous tasks that lie ahead for the reconstruction of the St. John’s and House of Bethany campuses. The details of the convention can be found at the adjacent link. See you soon!!
